I'm going to fix bugs which is checked by Acc Checker. However I have no idea how to fix it even though I have read a lot of documents from msdn.

The bug is "ElementHasNoName" on the TextBox and the xaml code is below:

It seems that the AccChecker will get the content of text rather than name when checking the name. But the content of text is input by user and I don't know how to fix it in xaml.

Hello sir,

I am using Acc Chacker for testing silverlight application.I am using 32bit and 2.0 version of Acc chacker.I am not able to test colour contrast,label name,heading kind of issues with Acc chacker right not with default Verifications provided.

Can I get this verifications in ready to use form ?

Have you tried installing the latest UI Automation package – there is a stand-alone download for Windows XP.

I got the same problem. I dug through the source code and it looks like it's failing because it's trying to access the OperatingSystemSKU property from Win32_OperatingSystem, which is not available on Windows XP. Running it on Windows 7 should work, but I think this is a bug which is causing it to fail in XP.

I all,
I have a problem on my Windows Vista that began afetr the purchase of an external Hard Disk Freecom.
A few days afetr the purchase I disconnected it while it was writing and, since that moment, every time I connect and disconnect it, the PC go to freeze mode for 5 minutes.
The same thing happen even if the hard disk is disconnected: every time I start windows it go to freeze a little after the password, and every time I connect and disconnect a usb device.
I have looked for the solution everywhere, updated windows, unistalled and installed the hard disk from the device manager but I solved the problem only when I restored a recent backup.
Yesterday the Hard disk was writing a backup while Vista was installing the updates; at the end of the proceure windows restarted automatically and the problem began again!!!
The Pc go to freeze when it starts, every time I connect or disconnect the hard disk, an usb earphone that has always worked switch on but there is no audio and I don't know how many others usb devices will have problems.
Has anyone an idea to solve this problem before I throw out of the window Vista or the the hard disk?

Sreedhar,

Are you asking how to select an individual control with AccChecker and run the verifications on that control (rather than on an entire window)?

AccChecker was designed to specify entire windows (on a HWND boundary) on which to run the verifications – the current version doesn’t have the granularity to specify individual controls. For that, you may need to use some other tools, such as Inspect (they don’t have the verifications, but you can use them to select and view individual controls.

Also, if you need to run the verifications on individual controls, could you explain what the value of doing that is? It seems that for the UI as a whole to work correctly, all the controls should be well accessible, not just a few.

As per this post, I could not find UI elements placed on an HTML page that is embedded in a windows container which is part of a windows application, using UIVerify. When I used AccChecker to verify the same, I'm able to find all the controls in the said html page in a tree view and could visualize them as well. For example, there is a link, which is found in the tree as follows...

Name: Deposit

Value: javascript:openCashierDeposit()

Role: Text

State: Linked ReadOnly Selectable Focusable

Location: {X=983,Y=203,Width=44,Height=12}

My request now to you is that, how would get this object so that I can programmatically perform an actions such as verification of name or most importantly clicking the link.

Hello Raja,

Apologies for the delayed response.

Are you asking whether AccChecker has functionality itself to help with the automation process for launching the UIs? If so, then the answer is NO – AccChecker can verify the UIs once you launch them, but does not have a mechanism to launch them (such as pre-record a series of steps and then execute them). That problem is quite complex in and of itself, so we considered it outside the scope of AccChecker. You will need to find tools that can help you launch the UIs, and then pass the HWND to the AccChecker verifications.

If you have to verify lots and lots of UIs, I suggest you do some automation which launches a UI, then runs the needed tests on that UI, then launches a second UI, etc. and leave the machine running overnight. You could use either the APIs, or the console application.
